Since Genshin Impact introduction in 2020, there was only one male Electro user: Razor. However, another was eventually introduced: Cyno, a five-star Electro polearm user from Sumeru. This Anubis-themed character has been famous since the Genshin Impact manga, and is a popular design among fans.
Those who fired Cyno and hope to level him up and improve his talents will need the right items and enough Mora. This guide will describe how much of everything is needed, as well as where to find it.
Leveling materials
Each character in Genshin Impact uses the same amount of EXP and Mora to reach level 90, which is the maximum. Here is how much is needed between each of Cyno’s ascension levels:

Cyno Ascension Items
As the holder of Electro Vision, Vajrada Amethyst is the elemental gem Cyno uses to ascend. In addition to this purple gem, he will need Samachurl drops, a local Sumeru desert specialty, and a Sumeru Electro Regisvine boss drop.

Gemstones – Where to Find Vajrada Amethyst
Like all elemental gems, Vajrada Amethyst can be obtained from bosses, daily commission bonuses, parametric transformer, etc. The most efficient way to farm it is to defeat bosses that can drop it in their rewards. These bosses include the following:
- Electro Regisvine
- Electro hypostasis
- Coral Defenders
- manifestation of thunder
- Primo Geovishap (when he infuses Electro)
- The Shogun
- Childe/Tartaglia
- Azhdaha (when he infuses Electro)
- Stormterror / Dvalin

Enemy Drop – Where to find Samachurl Scrolls
There is no shortage of Samachurls around Teyvat. This is great for anyone hoping to ride Cyno, as they need their drops to ride. At higher levels, Samachurls are able to drop higher quality materials, as shown here:
- Any Level: Divination Scroll
- Level 40+: Sealed Scroll
- Level 60+: Forbidden Curse Scroll
Of course, higher level Samachurl scrolls can be crafted from lower quality scrolls.
Boss Drop – How to Get Thunderclap Fruitcore
A third Regisvine was eventually added after the Cryo and Pyro Regisvines of Mondstadt and Liyue. Sumeru’s Mawtiyima Forest is home to the Electro Regisvine, which drops Thunderclap Fruitcore when defeated. This item is used in Cyno’s Ascension!
Local Specialty – Where to Find Scarabs
Unfortunately, anyone planning to pre-mine Cyno’s ascension materials couldn’t get their hands on absolutely everything, as the Scarabs weren’t out until Cyno himself was in the game. Genshin Impact update 3.1. These beetles are one of Sumeru’s local specialties and can only be found in the region’s desert, not its rainforests.
Cyno will need a total of 168 Scarabs to fully level up, so players will need to head to the Sand Desert to find them.
Materials Cyno Talent
Cyno’s talents require more scrolls of Samachurl, as well as books from one of Sumeru’s talent series and a few other items, as well as a small fortune in Mora.

Talent Books – Admonition
The talent series used in Cyno’s talent upgrades is Admonition. The Admonition series can be obtained by clearing the domain of the steeple of ignorance on Monday, Thursday or Sunday.
Trounce Materials – Evil General Mudra
Cyno’s talents require Inazuma’s Strike Gear. Players will need to defeat the Shogun in the End of the Oneiric Euthymia weekly realm and pay the resin cost for its rewards, which can include the Mudra of the Malefic General item.
Insight Crowns
Each character in Genshin Impact will use Crowns of Insight to maximize their talents, and Cyno is no exception. These rare items can be earned as rewards for participating in certain events, but a few can also be obtained by upgrading Dream Tree, Sacred Sakura, Frost Tree, and Lumenstone Adjuvant.
